School Uniform

1. At Riverside Primary School we place emphasis on pride in our community. Our children represent the community and are ambassadors for our school. We firmly believe that school uniform promotes our ethos and enhances equality. Winter uniform is worn from the Autumn term to the end of the spring term and the summer uniform should be worn throughout the summer term. Uniform is available online from Schooluniformdirect.org.uk Please ensure that you select Riverside Primary School and both Riverside Bridge School or Riverside Senior School. It is our expectation that all pupils at Riverside Primary School will wear the uniform as follows.

Please ensure your child uses the Riverside Primary book bag and not a rucksack to bring their books etc. to school.

• Jewellery should not be worn or brought into school. If girls have pierced ears, one pair of discreet studs may be worn.  Earrings must be removed for PE lessons for health and safety reasons. If your child is unable to remove the earrings themselves they should not come to school with them in on PE days.
• Only school jumpers or cardigans should be worn over polo shirts.
• Hair should be a sensible smart style—no colours, mohawks or razor lines.
• Pupils must not wear:– Hoodies, sportswear or sweatshirts, leather or denim clothing.- Any kind of boots (wellingtons are allowed in wet weather/snow but must be changed when inside the school buildings)- Trainers are NOT allowed to be worn at any time- Makeup and nail varnish should NOT be worn to school.Please note that if your child wears the wrong footwear to school, they will be provided with a pair of plimsolls to wear for the day. Non-compliance will result in your child attending Reflection Room at lunchtime.Please note that grey polo shirts without the school logo (for example, those you can buy in supermarkets) are acceptable uniform.  Pupils must however wear at least one item of uniform     displaying the school logo at all times.Pupils not in the correct footwear will be provided with school plimsolls to wear during school time.  Badges are not permitted with the exception of those provided by school and Poppies sold for Remembrance Day.PE kit should be brought to school on the first day of the term and will be sent home of the last day of the half term to be washed
