Riverside Primary School believe in “Excellence for All” where our pupils are at the centre of all that we do.
The school staff are key to our vision. We value their diversity. We aim to ensure that each staff member in our school moves forward in their employment as a whole person, through continuous professional development.
The curriculum is rich and varied. We look to develop everyone’s knowledge, understanding and skills. Our provision centres on high quality learning opportunities, teaching and facilities for all, whilst rigorously tailoring learning to meet the distinctive needs of different groups of pupils. We strive for high standards of learning and achievement so that all pupils reach their potential. We share with pupils and parents about the progress their child is making.
The members of the Year 3 team are:
- Class Teachers – Mrs Gelderbloem and Mrs Boland
Our Learning Support Assistants work in partnership with the class teachers to support your child’s learning. If you have any questions regarding your child’s learning, progress or overall achievement, please contact the school office to arrange an appointment to meet with me, alternatively, you can contact me at:

Key Stage 2 is an important and exciting period in your child’s education. We have worked hard to plan and prepare an exciting curriculum in line with the statutory requirements. Through following the Cornerstones Curriculum for our topic based lessons, we have created an exciting place to learn with a variety of opportunities and experiences for the children.
Year Three children have a very exciting curriculum planned, including topics Through the Ages, Rocks, Relics and Rumbles and Emperors and Empires. These cover a huge array of stimulating and motivating activities that offer them all opportunities to extend their learning across the curriculum. This enriching curriculum will inspire children to write creatively every week.
Children will develop their reading ability through acquisition of VIPERS skills and being exposed to a variety of text types.
